Monica Pasqual

Pianist, singer and songwriter Monica Pasqual is the winner of 6 Emmy Awards and several Independent Music Awards, both for her solo concept album "This Cold Desire", and with Blame Sally.  In 1995 she was named one of the top 10 Unsigned Artists in the US by Musician Magazine and Best of the Bay by KFOG and BAM Magazine. In 2000, after releasing three solo albums, Pasqual formed the band "Blame Sally" with Renee Harcourt, Pam Delgado and Jeri Jones. Since then they have recorded 8 albums. In 2008 they signed a half-million dollar, 5-year recording contract with Opus Music Ventures. Blame Sally has toured the US and Europe extensively, performed in many prestigious music festivals and headlined at Stern Grove, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, The Palace of Fine Arts and at Joe's Public House in NYC. They also filmed a one hour concert for the PBS syndicated series "Music Gone Public".  In 2011 Pasqual's song, Bird in Hand, was named the 3rd most popular song of the year by Folk Radio DJ Chart in the US.

In 2011, Monica released a solo album, "This Cold Desire,"  which won 2 Independent Music Awards. Two years later she formed a new band,  "Monica Pasqual & the Handsome Brunettes", featuring Joshua McClain on Cello, Pam Delgado on percussion and vocals and Velvy Appleton on guitar. They released "Is Fortune a Wheel" in 2016 to critical acclaim.

In addition to performing and recording with her bands, Pasqual creates soundtracks for film and television, teaches songwriting workshops and writes non-fiction.

Joshua McClain

Josh McClain wields his cello like a post -impressionist's brush, transcending his training to produce a warm, wild sound whose unbridled expressiveness derives largely from a willingness to leave the edges frayed. Such is the basis for an eclectic, infinitely intriguing sound filled out with loose, lazy rhythms and rootsy strumming.

Pamela Delgado

Pam Delgado's unbridled joy and passion have made her an incredibly compelling performer who connects with audiences all over the US and Europe.  She is best known for her role in the Bay area band Blame Sally, where she is a lead singer, writer and percussionist.  Her song, "Water" was featured on KFOG's Local Scene CD and has been a staple on KFOG's Morning Sunrise program with Rosalee Howarth. In addition to her work with Blame Sally and Monica Pasqual & the Handsome Brunettes, Pam has performed with Jeri Jones, Jill Knight, Corinne West, Jessie Turner and many others.

Velvy Appleton

Velvy Appleton is a musician/filmmaker living in the SF Bay area. Originally from the NYC area, he came to SF in the early ’90’s to work in the NorCal animation/visual effects world. A lifelong musician, he spent 13 years performing with the Brazilian dance band, Nobody From Ipanema. In 2008 he formed Three At Last, an original folk/vocal trio which evolved into his current band, Spark & Whisper. He and Monica co-produced Spark & Whisper’s 2013 album, "Ghost Towns”, which made it onto a dozen or more Folk DJ’s “Top 10 Albums of  the Year” lists. Velvy became a Handsome Brunette in 2014.
